NOTICE TO MEMBERSHIP To our Huron-Bruce Blizzard Families

The Huron-Bruce Minor Hockey Association has received all the revised Vaccine requirement documents from the Township of Huron-Kinloss, Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh, OMHA and OWHA.

These governing documents form a basis for how our 2021-2022 season will progress moving forward. Please note that any more restrictive requirements listed on the OMHA and OWHA documents may supersede anything listed by the Township of Huron-Kinloss and the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.

As it applies to HBMHA, effective September 22, 2021, proof of COVID-19 vaccination and proof of identification will apply to in the following circumstances with limited exceptions for anyone wishing to enter the Lucknow and District Sports Complex and the Ripley-Huron Community Center:

Parents or guardians participating in parent & children lessons, spectating at their child’s program, or completing drop off or pick up of their children from a program
Spectators 12 years of age and older, attending sporting events

For those registered in OMHA (boys/mixed programming)

All Affected Persons are required to be Fully Vaccinated (i.e.: including the 14-day period after receiving their completed dose) by October 31, 2021 or earlier. All Affected Persons must present to their Association designate, as applicable, evidence satisfactory to the OMHA demonstrating that they have received the completed series of an Accepted COVID-19 Vaccine

This policy applies to the following Affected Persons

Players born in 2009 or earlier
Team Officials (Coaches, Trainers and Managers, etc.)
Game Officials (referees, linespersons, timekeepers, etc.)
Volunteers
Instructors (third parties engaged by Associations or Teams to provide specialized instruction (e.g., power skating, goaltending coaching)

For those registered in OWHA (Girls)

Effective immediately, it is mandatory, as a condition of eligibility to participate in any OWHA-sanctioned activity, that everyone born in 2009 and earlier must be fully vaccinated (2 shots plus 14 days) as soon as possible and by no later than November 1, 2021. This includes all players, staff and volunteers, including coaches, trainers and officials. The only exemption from this requirement is for two specific medical reasons. The full policy reflecting these rules will be posted shortly on OWHA’s website.

Proof of Vaccination

Between September 22 and October 22, 2021, in addition to proof of identity, a patron must show a paper or digital version of the PDF receipt. After October 22, 2021, in addition to proof of identity, a patron may present a paper or digital version of the PDF receipt or a paper or digital version of the enhanced vaccine certificate with QR code to gain access to designated settings.
