An integral part of our hockey program is referees. Any young person(s) thinking of becoming a referee next season, please note there will be
ONLY ONE entry level referee school for new officials for the WOAA.
The OMHA has introduced a new format for training referees, transitioning from our traditional entry-level clinics to a comprehensive Referee School.
Below are the key details you need to know about this opportunity:
Referee School Dates:
The training will be held on
Saturday, October 19th, 2024, and Sunday, October 20th, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
Location: Central Huron Community Complex, 239 Bill Fleming Drive, CLINTON, Ontario N0M 1L0.
Cost: The maximum fee is $250.00. This includes hall rental, ice time, lunches, snacks, drinks (pop, water, coffee), referee books, cresting, a whistle, and your referee card.
Age Requirement: Open to individuals aged 14-45. Those turning 14 by December 31st of this year are eligible to attend.
Police Checks: Participants aged 18 and above by October 19th, 2024, will need a Vulnerable Sector Police Check (VSC) to attend. The VSC costs $41.00, is valid for three years, and can be obtained through your local police department using the OPP online system. Participants under 18 by this date do not require a VSC.
